Naugy was led by Lance Stevens (1-0) who gave up 5 hits and one walk while striking out 7 in a complete game shutout . John Tenn (2-4, R, 2B, RBI) and Ryan Russell (2-4, 2 R) each added two hits for Naugy. Steve Dubois (2-4) chipped in two hits for Burlington.
Waterbury Wild 8 Tri-Town Trojans 4
Waterbury was lead on the mound by Ken Kerski he went six innings he allowed 2 hits with 15 strikeouts Fraz Kadar had two hits two rbi John DiGiovanni had two hits. For Tri-Town they were led by Kyle Osolin with two hits and Steve Price had a double.
Amenia Monarchs 14 Lakeville Outlaws 3
Bob Chatfield raised his record to 2-0 on the mound as Amenia handed Lakeville the loss in NY. Jim Robertson homered, doubled and had 5 RBI while Caleb Huff had 4 hits including 3 doubles as Amenia had 18 hits on the day.
Bethlehem Plowboys 2 Terryville Black Sox 0
Tyler Erickson outdueled Billy Armstrong as Bethlehem took home the 2-0 victory. Jason Krajesky sealed the win picking up the save. Rob Geraci led off the seventh inning with a double. After two outs, Aaron Granahan singled up the middle to put runners on the corners. With Tony Geraci at the plate, Armstong threw a 1st pitch wild-pitch to plate Rob Geraci with the first run of the game. Tony Geraci doubled on the very next pitch to score Granahan and cap the days scoring. Ercikson finished the day with 8 strikeouts. Mac Morrison had two hits for Terryville.
Wolcott Scrappers 9 Brass City Brew 3
Brass City led the Scrappers 2-1 after six innings then Adam LaCapra broke the game open in the top of the seventh with a two-run double. The Scrappers put up two more runs in the seventh and 4 more in the ninth.
Litchfield Cowboys 11 Winsted Whalers 3
Cowboy Adam Claire went 3-for-4 and scored 3 runs; Chris Beach, Kyle Weaver (double) and Dylan Stiles had two hits apiece. All of them counted big as Zach Tuozzo and Donnie Crossman held up Winsted’s end with three hits apiece, along with doubles from Darrin Gould and Ricky Langer. Starter Kyle Robinson went four innings to take the win, along with an 8-2 lead after three innings.
Torrington Rebels 6 Prospect Homers 4
Each team got just 4 hits. Ten walks and two hit batters helped the Rebels; six Torrington errors helped the Homers. Veteran Rebel pitcher Dan Livingston (6 innings, 0 earned runs, 2 hits, 5 strikeouts, 0 walks), who at age 34, still plays in four summer leagues averaging two starts per week, was on the mound for Torrington. He zipped through six innings with minimal difficulty from Prospect batters, but four Rebel errors in the field.
Prospect starter Spenser Griffin (2 innings, 5 earned runs, 3 hits, 7 walks, 2 hit batters) had the opposite problem. Mike Valente (6 innings, 1 earned run, 1 hit, 8 strikeouts, 3 walks) ended Griffins misery and most of Torrington’s offensive action. Rebel Nick Ross (2-for-4) led off the second with the games first hit then 3 walks, a hit batter and two fielders choices plated 2 runs for Torrington. The Homers scored twice in the fourth inning on three Torrington errors and a double by Dan Gugliotti. A walk, steal, Prospect error and ground out plated Jeremy Lovato for Torrington in the sixth. Austin Poucher (3 innings, 2 earned runs, 2 hits, 6 strikeouts, 3 walks, 1 hit batter) finished up for the Rebels to earn the save. Dave Antonucci had a two-run single for Prospect.
