Jay LaFontaine had a two run single in the sixth inning and went the distance on the mound with a three-hitter as Thomaston defeated Bristol 4-1. Tim Collins had an RBI in a two-run first for Thomaston (2-0) LaFontaine struck out six and walked four as Bristol fell to 2-1.

Naugy jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings thanks to two 2 run doubles by Devin Murphy (2-4, 2 2B, 4 RBI). After trailing 7-1 after three innings, Bristol rallied with four hits in the bottom of the 5th, led by Dru Sgro’s (1-3, 2 R,RBI) RBI double and Dan Rosa’s (2-4, R, RBI) RBI single to cut the lead to 7-5. Bristol would take the lead 8-7 in the bottom of the 6th after a 3-run homerun from Rex Cone (2-2, 2 BB, 3 R, HR, 3 RBI). Ryan Russell (1-4, R, 2B) led off the top of the 7th with a double and later scored on Kenny Pabst’s (1-1 R, RBI) RBI single to tie the game. Naugy would eventually score the final two runs on a throwing error from third base. Jamie Kimberly (1-0) took the win for Naugy.
