Litchfield Cowboys 5, Prospect Hearts 2: Leland McKenna had a double and two RBI as Litchfield defeated Prospect at Community Field. Dylan Stiles added a 2-for-3 evening that included a double. Kevin Murray picked up the win on the mound. The Cowboys imrpove to 5-8. Dave Antonucci went 2-for-3 to lead the Hearts (1-12). Dan Gugliotti took the loss for Prospect.
Tribury Pavers 5, Winsted Whalers 2: The Pavers pounced on four first-inning walks, with two hits, including a two-run single by Russ Stutsky, to build a four-run lead at Nonnewaug High School before Winsted’s Adam Piechowski (4 2/3 innings, 6 strikeouts, 2 hits, 1 earned run) and Don Crossman (1 inning) came in to put out the fire. Meanwhile, Tribury’s Alex Maki went the distance for the Pavers, allowing just four hits, with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk. Charlie Putnam had an RBI double in the fourth inning for the Whalers; Dan Perez drove in a Tribury run with a double in the fifth. The Whalers scored one more run, in the top of the sixth. But, in this game, before the pitching kicked in, the game was decided in the first. Winsted is now 8-7; Tribury is 5-6.
Thomaston Spoilers 13, Bristol Greeners 6: The Greeners played catchup all evening at Thomaston High School Thursday, pulling to a 6-5 deficit in the top of the fifth. Then the Spoilers erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth. Joe Deming (5 strikeouts) held the Greeners to six hits in a complete-game win. Rob McHugh (2-for-3), Deming (2-for-3, triple), Jacob Barbour (double) and Mike McHugh (double) led Thomaston to two runs in the first inning, four in the fourth and the Spoiler eruption in the sixth. Drew Sgro (2-for-3, triple, RBI), Dave Casanova (2-for-3), Dan Rosa (triple) and Brian Dudzinski (double) spurred the Greeners to one run in the fourth, four in the fifth and one more in the seventh. Bristol is 8-5; Thomaston is 8-6.
Bethlehem Plowboys 3, Wolcott Scrappers 0: Bethlehem’s Jason Krajeski held Wolcott (10-5) to just two hits in his seven innings of work in a key Tri-State game at Bethlehem’s Gallop Field. While Krajeski blanked the Scrappers, the Plowboys squeezed two runs across in the third inning and one more in the fourth with just seven hits against Wolcott’s Adam LaCapra. Bethlehem’s Nick Chiovitti and Kevin Pettit had RBI in the third inning; Jon Conlon drove in the fourth-inning run. Wolcott is 10-5; Bethlehem is 9-4.

Brass City Brew 7, Tri-Town Trojans 2: The Brass City Brew put together 2 big innings to beat the Tri-Town Trojans 7-2 under the lights at Waterville Park Thursday night. Eric Gormley went to 4-0 on the season for Brass City, going 6, allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, on 7 strikeouts. After being down 1 run after the 3rd, Brass City strung together 3-run and 4-run 4th and 5th innings, respectively. In the bottom of the 4th, Eric Rovinetti tied the game 1-1 on a RBI single. A few batters later, Paul Novakowski plated 2 with a single for a 3-1 Brew lead. In the bottom of the 5th with the bases loaded, Rovinetti drove in 2 runs followed by a Mike Padovani 2-RBI single to make the score 7-1. The Trojans would add their second run on an error by the Brew in the top of the 6th. The Trojans were lead by Danny McCarty 1-for-2, RBI, BB and Casey McDonald, 1-for-2, run, BB.
