Thomaston Spoilers 14, Torrington Rebels 3: Joe Deming went 3-for-4 with, including a triple and three RBI to pace the Spoilers’ 18-hit attack in a victory over the Rebels at Thomaston High School on Monday. Thomaston also got big days at the plate from the McHugh brothers as Rob went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Mike also went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Anthony Gasparini pitched the first six innings for the Spoilers and Chris Gimbrone closed the game out by tossing the seventh. Brandon Cordani pitched the first 2 1/3 innings for the Rebels, and was followed on the mound by Ian Piece and Dave Alexander, who entered in the fifth. Catcher Jerry Colon had two hits for Torrington, while Alexander added a double. The Rebels are now 4-5.

Congratulations to Tom Van Stone Jr (our webmaster) and his wife on the birth of their daughter Felicity Rose Van Stone born Wednesday night at 6:33pm. Both she and mom are doing great – and have already made a family trip to the park with Felicity and her brother. Congrats of course also to grandpa Tom Van Stone (head coach Waterbury Wild)!!
