Bethlehem 4, Tri-Town 3: The Plowboys rallied to defeat the Trojans at Gallup Field in Bethlehem Thursday. Nick Chiovitti’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh plated Matt Parlato with the game-winning run. Tony Geraci had two hits for Bethlehem (3-2). John Conlan homered for the Plowboys. Tyler Erickson picked up the win in relief. Dan McCarty had two hits to lead Tri-Town (3-3). Mark Price homered for the Trojans. Miles Scribner took the loss.
Winsted 3, Mazda Dodge 2: The Red Devils scored the first two runs of the game in the first inning, but Whaler pitcher Donny Crossman shut them down the rest of the way in a victory at Walker Field.Crossman gave up two runs on three hits and struck out 10 in the complete game win. On offense, Kaiden Pieszak, Charlie Putnam, Dave Lumpkin, and Chester Warner each had a double. Pieszak had a two-run double while Putnam added an RBI double. Winsted improves to 4-1. Will Sirotnak singled in the first to drive in a run for Mazda Dodge. Jay LaFontaine took the complete game loss. The Red Devils are 1-3.
Wolcott 9, Thomaston 4: The Scrappers got a solid effort from complete-game winner Justin Koutros (2 ER, 12 hits, 8 strikeouts) in a victory over the Spoilers at the BAW Complex in Wolcott. At the plate, Ryan Andrade (3 hits, RBI), Jason Miller (2 hits, RBI), and Adam LaCapra (2 hits, RBI) lead the way. Miller and LaCapra each had a double for Wolcott, which improved its record to 3-2. Andy Romano had three hits and a run scored to lead Thomaston (3-2). Luis Serrano and Gary Swiercynski each had two hits and a run scored for the Spoilers.
Naugatuck 12 Litchfield 7: Kyle Faucher had three hits and four RBI to lead Naugy to its first win of the season. Macky Cianciola added two hits and two RBI for the winners (1-4) while George Harlamon and Bob Augelli each had an RBI single. Greg Babina pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits. Evan Dreher had a double and two RBI for Litchfield (1-3).
Waterbury 8, Amenia 0: Adam Roque went the distance allowing just 2 hits and a walk while striking out 16. Cody Kingsley added 2 hits and 2 RBIs, John DiGiovanni added a double and 2 RBIs, Brad DiVito added a double and 2 RBIs as the Wild defeated the Monarchs 8-0 at Waterville Park in Waterbury. Bob Chatfield threw 5 innings giving up 6 hits while striking out 9. Tom Moore and Dave Mosher had the only hits for the Monarchs. The Wild move to 2-3 and Amenia falls to 3-2.
