Amenia 3 Litchfield 2 (8 innings)
Tom Moore singled in Joel Judson in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Monarchs past the Cowboys in Amenia, N.Y. Litchfield fell to 8-6 while Amenia improved to 8-5. Judson also started on the mound for Amenia, going seven innings and striking out 12. Andrew Wolinski pitched the eighth inning to notch the win in relief. Chris Matteo and Tom Downey had two hits each to pace the Monrachs’ offense. Dylan Styles drove in both Litchfield runs with a fourth-inning double.
Brass City 2 Tri-Town 1
Eric Gormley picked up his first win of the season, tossing six innings while allowing one run and striking out three in the Brass City Brew’s 2-1 victory over the Tri-Town Trojans on Tuesday in Tri-State League baseball. Justin McCulloch hit an RBI double in the fourth inning to plate Steve Carosella with the game-winning run, and Mike Butkovic added an RBI single for Brass City (12-2). Troy Kobylarz had a double and an RBI, and Landon Gardella doubled and scored a run for Tri-Town.
Terryville 7 Burlington 3
Kenny Martinek tossed six innings and struck out three as visiting Terryville knocked off Burlington.Eric Baba and Dan Baccaro both had two hits and drove in two runs for Terryville (5-8). Scott McIntyre had two hits while Jimmy Spirito added a double and an RBI for Burlington (9-6).
