Brass City 6, Mazda Dodge 2
The Brass City Brew scored four runs in the the bottom of the fifth inning to push past the Mazda Dodge Red Devils at a rainy Washington Park in Waterbury Thursday night. Steve Carosella started the scoring for the Brew with a two-run double in the bottom of the second for a 2-0 lead. The Red Devils struck back in the top of the third with an RBI single by Trevor Bellemare and a bases loaded RBI walk for DJ Dyer. Brass City dug down in the bottom of the fifth to score four and put the game away. Willy Ramos scored from third on a wild pitch, followed by a Mike Verroneau two-run single. Verroneau later scored on a dropped fly ball. Sean Keegan moved to 3-0 on the season going five strong and striking out seven. Tim McCarthy finished the game off with two scoreless and hitless innings in relief. DJ Dyer allowed just five hits suffering the loss.
