Justin Campbell had a double for the Hunters. Jim Bunnell pitched well for the the Whalers who were led offensively by Donny Crossman with an RBI double, Ricky Langer 1-2 with a sac fly and RBI, Chris Davidson (triple) and Bart Marchant (double).

Eric O’Toole had 3 hits and 3 RBI for the Plowboys. Ryan Klepps (two hits) and Ryan McDonnell each doubled for Bristol. Mike Divenere suffered the loss.
Bristol 2, Tribury 0
The Greeners used a combination of excellent pitching and defense to defeat Tribury in the second game of their doubleheader. Brian Archibald (1-1) recorded his first win of the season, allowing 4 hits over 5 scoreless innings while striking out 5. Bristol took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a leadoff single by Ryan Dudzinski (2-3 run, 3SB). After stealing both second and third, he scored on a sac fly by Chris Klepps (1-1 2 RBI, SB). Bristol got its second run in the third inning when Klepps recorded his second sac fly driving in Mike Zammett (2BB, run). The defensive play of the game came in the top of the third. With Tribury trailing 1-0, Pavers leadoff batter Jordan Kershaw lined a ball over centerfielder Dan Rosa’s head. Kershaw tried for an inside-the-park homerun but was cut down at the plate on a strong relay from Rosa to Zammitt to catcher Shawn Mirmina. Rosa (1-0) pitched the final two frames for Bristol recording his 2nd save of the year, escaping a jam in the seventh. A leadoff walk and bobbled ground ball put runners on first and second with no outs. Rosa struck out the next two batters before loading the bases on a hit by pitch. He then buckled down to strike out the final batter of the game and preserve the 2-0 win for Bristol. Tribury starter Chris Doyle got stronger as the game went on as the lefty allowed just 2 runs on 4 hits and struck out 10.
