Bristol 3, Wolcott 2
Matt Beaudoin gave Bristol the lead for good with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning and Rich Bianci picked up his first win of the season, surrendering just one earned run over 5+ innings. Ryan Dudzinski collected 2 base hits and 2 stolen bases while Matt DiVenere contributed an RBI single. Omar Taveras pitched six strong innings allowing just three earned runs and striking out five for the Scrappers. Sal Messina (two hits) had an RBI double for Wolcott and Eddie Belval (two hits) added a sac fly for an RBI.
Bristol 6, Litchfield 5
The Cowboys jumped out to an early 5-1 lead on the strength of a Kyle Weaver 2-run double. Leland Mckenna (3 RBI) added two hits as Litchfield scored one run in the first, two in the second, and two in the fourth. Litchfield starter Kyle Robinson allowed one hit through the first four innings before the Bristol bats came alive. After trailing 5-1, the Greeners rallied for three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to take the game, aided by a few Litchfield errors. Shawn Mirmina’s 2-run sungle tied the score and Ryan Klepps had the go-ahead RBI double to back Dan Rosa (5 innings of relief, two earned runs, 6 K’s) as Bristol improves to 4-1 on the season. The Greeners had big hits off the bats of Doug and Matt Beaudoin.
